Founder’s Message

Hello,

My name is Kum Sunnan, founder of the Korea Animal Protection Association.
Like me, I believe that all of you dream of a happy and peaceful world.
If humanity could reduce even a small part of its endless greed — greed that often feels like pouring water into a bottomless jar — perhaps we could live in a better and more compassionate world.
Because of humanity’s reckless and short-sighted desires, the nature and animals around us are being torn apart and suffering in silence. The fact that I cannot relieve all of their pain is a source of deep sorrow to me, and I believe it is also a sorrow shared by many of you. If people could share a little more kindness and love with animals, and develop the habit of treating them with warmth and consideration, we would be able to leave a better world for our children and create a happier future for all.
Although reality may seem dark at times, I believe that if people who share the same values come together, lead by example, and spread compassion and love, the world we hope for is not impossible.
The Korea Animal Protection Association was founded in 1991 to help animals who have been hurt and abandoned.
Since then, we have worked every day to rescue animals suffering because of human greed.
To all of you who care for animals: Please continue to cherish life and keep that pure compassion alive in your hearts.
Let us work together so that animals and humans can coexist peacefully in a happier world.
